Sun Valley Ketchum Chamber & Visitors Bureau (CVB)

The City of Sun Valley funds the CVB each year in the neighborhood of $350,000 with proceeds from the Local Option Tax. During 2007 I have served as the City Council liaison to the CVB Board of Directors. This has been a valuable experience as it has given me a great view into the operations of the CVB.

In the past the City of Sun Valley has given the CVB 25% of its annual LOT collections as its share toward Chamber operations. This year, we changed that thinking and budgeted money to the CVB based upon a contract that identifies specific marketing deliverables they are to provide the City and what that work will cost. We felt such a contract is a more accountable way of allocating tax money. We also want to work with the CVB to look at long-term goals as our economy changes over time.
